Today I’m going directly into teaching.
I’m not motivating or inspiring you. I’ll do that some other time.
This is because what I’m about to share has kept many personal and business brands in a place of unintentional mediocrity.
Do you know how terrible it is to not maximise what you should be, especially when you have the resources you need?
As a Digital media consultant, I have seen that that the major cause of this gap in profitability is that you do not know this yet.
If you know about it, you should do better… Because you can.
So let’s get right into it.
There are 3 things you must be very clear about if you are building a personal or business brand.
If you are clear in 2 but one is missing, you will keep leaving some money on the table.
The 3 of them must be complete… And very clear.
1. Creating Value.
You must have an exact system for creating value.
I’ll be as practical as possible so I’ll use real examples.
For a service based brand, you should have an exact system for the content clusters you create for your brand.
If you have a product, you must have an exact way the production of your “value” is carried out.
You don’t need to have it in your head, try to write it down.
You’ll be surprised how much it can be improved if you write it down.
This system includes things like the tools you use, the time you take, the frequency, consistency, etc.
2. Distributing Value.
Value that is created and not effectively distributed has been underutilized.
You can be very good in value creation, but if your distribution is faulty, you will still be less than you should.
The people that get the best deals are not always the best. They may just be the most visible.
You must have a CLEAR system for distribution, both offline and online.
Again, I’ll say, don’t have it in your head.
Write it down.
3. Capturing Value.
This is where people can make you feel bad.
After-all “freely you have received, freely you should give”.
If you have produced value of high quality and have distributed it to the right people in an excellent way, but you don’t have a way of capturing value for yourself, you’ll be well known and well broke.
If you are sure of what you’ve created, you should never feel bad for demanding a reward for it.
Am I saying you shouldn’t give things for free?
No. I personally still do a lot for free.
But “free” is relative.
Money is not the only means of payment.
Not every reward can be collected through paystack.
You must have a way of capturing value… A way of getting reward for the value you’ve created.
Make it clear.
Write it down.
These are the three things you must be definite about to truly become productive AND profitable.
I hope you’ve gotten value from this?
Good. Don’t stop there.
Action is the next thing.
Which of these 3 areas do you think you need to improve on?
