Trying a new AI tool every week can feel like progress. Most times, it is just activity.

A useful test starts with work that already happens. You know who does it, how long it takes, and what a good result looks like.

Use this test

Choose one task with enough repetition to matter and low enough risk to test safely.

  1. Write down the current time, cost, and common mistakes.
  2. Run the task through one clear AI workflow.
  3. Check the output with the person who owns the work.
  4. Measure the same time, cost, and mistakes again.
  5. Keep, fix, or remove the workflow based on the result.

The goal is not more AI

The goal is better work. Sometimes AI will help. Sometimes a checklist, template, or simpler process will do more.

You only learn the difference when you test one real use case and measure it.
